How to Get to the Second Sea in Blox Fruits (Level 700 Quest)

Reaching the Second Sea is the first big step forward in Blox Fruits. It opens bigger islands, tougher enemies and new things to do. This guide shows the exact route, what to prepare and how to beat the boss in the way.

What you need before you start

The only hard requirement is level 700. When you reach it, a message appears at the top of the screen telling you to talk to the Detective at the Prison. If you do not see the quest option, check your level first.

Good things to bring along:

• A fruit or weapon with strong damage. The Ice Admiral is a level 700 boss, so a weak setup will make the fight slow.
• The movement skills Flash Step and Air Jump, plus Aura. You can learn these from the Ability Teacher in the Frozen Village cave. They are very useful for dodging the boss.
• A healthy Defense stat. If you put every point into damage, you may go down in a few hits.
• Optionally, a 2x EXP code or boost if you are still a few levels short. Codes expire, so check a current list before you rely on one.

Step by step: how to reach the Second Sea

1. Talk to the Military Detective. Go to the Prison island, which is west of Fountain City. The Military Detective stands near the entrance. He asks you to find Don Swan, who he believes is hiding in the Frozen Village, and gives you a key.
2. Travel to the Frozen Village. Find the cave where the Ability Teacher is. This is the same cave where you can learn Flash Step, Aura and Air Jump.
3. Open the brown door. At the back of the cave there is a small brown door. Use the key to open it. Behind it waits the Ice Admiral.
4. Defeat the Ice Admiral. See the boss tips below.
5. Return to the Military Detective at the Prison. After the fight, he tells you that Don Swan escaped to the Second Sea.
6. Find the Experienced Captain. He is in Middle Town, at the docks. Talk to him and he takes you to the Second Sea.

The wiki also notes that you can skip going back to the Detective, because you already have access once the Ice Admiral is down. Going back is still the safest way to follow the quest in order, so do it if you are unsure.

Ice Admiral boss tips

Beebom's guide suggests keeping your distance and using ranged attacks. The two moves to watch for are:

• Ice Surge: keep your distance when you see it coming.
• Glacial Epoch: dodge with Air Jump and Flash Step.

Do not stand still, and attack in short bursts instead of one long combo so you always have energy left for a dodge. Pick a fruit or weapon with high damage before you go in.

What changes in the Second Sea

When you arrive, you land at the docks of the Kingdom of Rose. Near the docks you will find the Blox Fruit Dealer and the Set Home Point NPC, close to the first two leveling areas. The level range here runs from 700 to 1500.

Here is what to expect, according to the wiki:

• Enemies hit harder and have more dangerous moves than in the First Sea.
• Aura becomes common on enemies, which makes elemental fruits much less effective. If you relied on an elemental fruit in the First Sea, you may need to rethink your setup.
• Bounty hunting is more common, although it is less risky on islands other than the Kingdom of Rose.
• A new currency called Fragments is introduced. It is used for things like stat resets, race rerolls and fruit awakenings.
• Raids, dungeons and Titles all appear for the first time, and Race V2 and Race V3 are introduced here.

The Second Sea has fewer islands than the First, but they are much bigger. The Kingdom of Rose is the largest island in the whole game. Other islands include Green Zone, Graveyard Island, Snow Mountain, Hot and Cold, Cursed Ship, Ice Castle, Forgotten Island, Remote Island, Cave Island, Dark Arena and Indra Island.

Common problems

• The quest does not start. Make sure you are at least level 700 and that you are talking to the Military Detective at the Prison, not another NPC.
• You cannot find the door. It is inside the Frozen Village cave, where the Ability Teacher is, and it needs the key from the Detective.
• The boss is too hard. Raise your Defense, bring a stronger weapon, and use the dodge skills instead of taking hits.
• Other guides say something different. Some websites describe other routes. The wiki, Beebom and a second fan wiki all agree on the steps above, so follow those. If an NPC has moved after an update, check your quest log in game.
