Fish It Best Rods: How to Get Ghostfinn, Element and Diamond Rods
Plan your Fish It rod upgrades past the starter shop: late-game rod prices, where to buy them, and the quest steps for the Ghostfinn, Element and Diamond Rods.
After reading this you will know which rods come after the starter shop in Fish It, what they cost, and what each rod quest asks you to do. Fish It changes often, and some guides disagree on stats, so this article sticks to prices, places and quest steps that at least two sites back up, and it tells you where they differ. Always confirm in the game before you save up.
Where late-game rods come from
According to Rosenberry Rooms, the shops are split by island: Fisherman Island for basic rods, Kohana for mid-tier rods and Tropical Grove for the advanced ones. Bloxodes (updated in September 2026) gives these shop prices:
| Rod | Where | Price in coins | |---|---|---| | Steampunk Rod | Rod shop | 215,000 | | Chrome Rod | Rod shop | 437,000 | | Astral Rod | Rod shop | 1,000,000 | | Ares Rod | Tropical Grove | 3,000,000 | | Angler Rod | Lost Isle | 8,000,000 | | Bamboo Rod | Ancient Jungle, Sacred Temple | 12,000,000 |
Rosenberry Rooms lists the same Ares, Angler and Bamboo prices and locations, and Roonby also gives the 8 million price for the Angler Rod and about one million for the Astral Rod. Gamezebo says that the Astral Rod is the top rod you can buy in the regular shop.
Rods from the Traveling Merchant
A Traveling Merchant appears from time to time and sells rotating stock. Both Bloxodes and Rosenberry Rooms say it sells the Fluorescent Rod for 715,000 coins and the Hazmat Rod for 1,300,000 coins. Since the stock rotates, you might have to wait until the merchant is back with what you need.
How to get the Ghostfinn Rod
The Ghostfinn Rod is not sold for coins. Bloxodes and Rosenberry Rooms both say you earn it by finishing the Deep Sea Quest on Lost Isle. Rosenberry Rooms lists the steps:
- Catch 300 Rare or Epic fish in the Treasure Room.
- Catch 3 Mythic fish and 1 Secret fish at the Sisyphus Statue.
- Have 1,000,000 coins.
Roonby and Gamezebo both treat the Ghostfinn Rod as a major goal after the Astral Rod. The stats listed differ slightly between sites, but all of them put it far above the shop rods.
How to get the Element Rod
The Element Rod is a free quest reward in Ancient Jungle, according to Bloxodes. Rosenberry Rooms adds the requirements:
- Own the Ghostfinn Rod.
- Catch one Secret fish at Ancient Jungle and one at the Sacred Temple.
- Create 3 Transcended Stones.
Bloxodes lists the Element Rod as a Secret rarity rod with the second best luck of any rod on its list. Because the quest needs the Ghostfinn first, do them in that order.
How to get the Diamond Rod
Bloxodes says the Diamond Rod comes from the Diamond Researcher quest in the Mutation Cellar on Fisherman Island. Rosenberry Rooms lists what the quest asks for:
- Own the Element Rod.
- Catch a Secret fish at the Coral Reefs and another at Tropical Grove.
- Bring a Mutated Gemstone Ruby and a Lochness Monster to Lary.
- Catch 1,000 fish with Perfect Throws.
This is the longest chain in the list, so treat it as a long-term goal, not something to rush.
Which path should you follow?
Putting the sources together, here is a safe order:
- Take the free Lava Rod and Toy Rod early.
- Save for the Steampunk Rod, then the Chrome Rod. Rosenberry Rooms suggests aiming for the Chrome Rod for serious profits.
- Buy the Astral Rod if you want the best shop rod.
- Work on the Ghostfinn quest, since it is free but needs a lot of fishing and one million coins.
- Continue to Element, then Diamond.
If you want a purchase target instead of a quest, the Angler Rod at 8 million coins is the one that several guides mention.
Things to keep in mind
- Do not buy a rod just for the name. Check luck, speed and weight in the shop first.
- Gamepass rods such as the Angelic, Gold and Hyper Rods cost real Robux (399, 445 and 999 per Bloxodes). They are optional, and you can progress fully without them. Ask a parent or guardian before spending any real money.
- Stock and numbers can change with each update. Look at the game's Roblox page for the newest update notes.
