Ride A Pet Guide: Eggs, Radars and How Mutations Work
Understand Ride A Pet egg luck and tiers, which radar to buy next, and how hatch mutations and weather traits stack so your pets earn and ride faster.
This guide shows how to make progress in Ride A Pet faster: how the egg tiers work, when to buy a radar, and how mutations and weather traits stack on your pets. Numbers come from the community wiki as of October 2026, and the game is still being updated (it also runs seasonal events), so confirm anything important in the in-game shop.
The basic loop
The game's own description gives the plan: find eggs around the map, hatch rarer and faster pets, and use those pets to reach rarer eggs. You ride your pet, so a faster pet lets you cover the map quicker and get to eggs before other players. Beebom adds that you carry an egg back to your ranch to hatch it, and that a timer starts when you grab an egg from its spawn. If the timer runs out the egg breaks, so go straight home after you pick one up. Beebom lists the game's release as April 2026.
Egg tiers and luck
The wiki lists every egg with a luck number and a rarity tier. A higher luck number means better odds at rare pets. A few examples from the table:
- White Egg: luck 1 (Common)
- Brown Egg: luck 5 (Common)
- Cracked Egg: luck 30 (Rare)
- Mushroom Egg: luck 500 (Epic)
- Glass Egg: luck 10,000 (Legendary)
- Diamond Egg: luck 90,000 (Mythic)
- Aurora Egg: luck 300,000,000 (Divine)
- Black Hole Egg: luck 210,000,000,000 (listed as Etheral on the wiki)
- Volcanic Egg: luck 2,500,000,000,000, the highest on the list
Eggs reset every 8 minutes, according to the wiki, so a spawn that is empty now will refill. When you can reach a higher tier reliably, stop spending time on the cheap eggs.
Radars: find the tier you want
Radars are bought in the gear shop and show where eggs of a certain tier are. They cannot be toggled on and off after purchase, and the wiki says an Auto-Buy switch in the interface can restock a radar automatically when it becomes available. Prices in the game's money:
- Advanced Radar: $50, tracks Rare eggs
- Jewel Radar: $3,000, tracks Epic eggs
- Royal Radar: $20,000, tracks Legendary eggs
- Magic Radar: $300,000, tracks Mythic eggs
- Angelic Radar: $7m, tracks Divine eggs
- Eternal Radar: $30m, tracks Ethereal eggs
Buy the next radar as soon as you can afford it. It is better to hunt a tier you can hatch consistently than to run around the whole map without a target.
Mutations: what they are and how to get them
Mutations raise a pet's money and speed. There are two types.
Hatched mutations can appear when a pet hatches. According to the wiki table:
- Gold: 10 percent chance, x2
- Haunted: 5 percent chance, x9 (only during the Halloween weather, which starts at the top of every hour and lasts 10 minutes)
- Diamond: 1 percent chance, x7
- Rainbow: 0.5 percent chance, x15
Weather traits come from storms. Putting pets on your ranch during a storm gives them a chance to receive that storm's trait. The multipliers are Shocked x2, Volted x3, Rage x4, Void x7, Magma x10 and Eternal x12.5.
Magma works differently. You dip an egg in the volcano once. It has a 15 percent chance to work and add 8 seconds to the egg's timer, and an 85 percent chance to fail, which returns the egg and costs it 5 seconds. Because it is a single try, it is a gamble.
How stacking works
A pet can hold one hatched mutation and one weather trait at the same time. It cannot hold two weather traits. If it already has one and gets a higher one, the stronger one replaces it, and a lower trait can never overwrite a higher one. So leaving a valuable pet on your ranch during every storm is safe: the best result stays.
Common mistakes
- Walking the whole map without the radar that matches your target tier.
- Holding an egg too long after you grab it and watching it break.
- Putting your best pet away during a storm when it could have been on the ranch collecting a trait.
- Taking the Magma gamble with an egg you cannot afford to lose time on.
- Spending real money on packs out of impatience. Anything bought with Robux costs real money and is never required.
Short checklist
- Grab an egg and go straight to your ranch.
- Buy the next radar when you can afford it.
- Keep your best pets on the ranch during storms.
- Check egg spawns every 8 minutes.
