Attack on Titan Revolution tips: gear order, skill tree, streak gems and prestige
Practical Attack on Titan Revolution tips for new players: what to upgrade first, which skills to take, how to hit the nape, how streak gems work and when to prestige.
This guide collects the habits that help most in Attack on Titan Revolution: what to upgrade first, which skills to take, how to land nape hits, and when to prestige. Most numbers come from the community wiki, whose pages mention Updates 3 and 4, so double check anything that looks off in your own game menus after a new update.

What to upgrade first
The wiki's gear order for ODM players is: Damage, Speed, Control, Range, Gas, Durability, Crit chance, then Crit damage. Shifters follow a slightly different order, with Crit damage and Crit chance moved up. Each upgrade ranks a part of your gear from E- toward S-, and your overall rank decides which difficulties you can play for better rewards.
Skill tree order
Take your family skills first. After that, the wiki suggests:
- ODM players: go up the offense tree until you reach Hand Grinder, then the support tree until Target Acquisition. Then follow your family: players without Ackerman or a Mythic family take the left-side damage path.
- Thunder Spear players: take Scout's Instinct in the support tree, which detonates spears automatically, then the damage path.
- Shifters: take Target Acquisition or Scout's Instinct, and use the offense tree if you fight with blades.
Two of these skills only work if you switch them on. Nape Assist, which turns the nape into a hook point for Target Acquisition, is a setting in the parameters menu, and Scout's Instinct must be activated there too.
Hitting the nape
- Aim above the target, swing with Space, then stop swinging and go full speed into the nape.
- Hold your mouse button to charge an attack and release at the right moment.
- If a single titan is walking and you are already hooked to its nape, glide along the ground to bait a stomp, then attack while it recovers.
- In stall missions, attack from as high as possible and back dash by pressing S twice to avoid steam damage.
Missions and streak gems
Missions are one of the two main modes, along with raids, and come in Skirmish, Randomizer and Objective types. Difficulties run from Easy (E- grade) through Normal, Hard, Severe and Aberrant (A- grade).
On Hard and above, your streak goes up by 1 per titan kill and you earn gems each time it reaches a new multiple of 50. The streak resets if you die, and raids do not give streak gems. Starting rewards are 10 gems on Hard, 20 on Severe and 45 on Aberrant, and each tier has a cap, according to the wiki. Failing the Loading Docks stall mission also loses your streak.
Injuries from bites and stomps can slow you down, so keep bandages or another healing skill ready. Titan serums are rare: the wiki gives Aberrant missions a base chance of 0.09 percent, so Aberrant raids are the better place to hunt for one.
Families and spins
Families decide your bonuses. The wiki says you get a guaranteed Epic or better after 400 spins without one. Spins also get better odds on weekends, when the 2x family event doubles Legendary and Mythical chances. If you have spins to spend, wait for the red X2 FAMILY text in the bottom left corner.
When to prestige
You can prestige when you hit the level cap with a full XP bar, through the Prestige button in the Equipment tab. It resets your level and skill tree for permanent buffs, but your gold turns into gems. Prestige 1 unlocks the Thunder Spear quests. Two wiki tips repeat often: choose the Luck buff, and build up your gold before prestiging, since it converts to gems.
Quick checklist
- Join the group and redeem codes.
- Upgrade Damage first.
- Turn on Nape Assist.
- Do not rush Aberrant before your gear rank is ready.
