Anime Vanguards Trait Rerolls: How Traits Work and How to Farm Them
A practical guide to Anime Vanguards traits: what each trait does, the pity counts, which units suit which trait and the free ways to farm Trait Rerolls every day.
Trait Rerolls are one of the most important resources in Anime Vanguards. After this guide you will know what a trait does, how the pity counters work, which traits suit which units, and where to farm rerolls without paying. The wiki pages used here were last edited in early 2026 and the other guide is from September 2026, so amounts may have changed in later updates.
What traits and rerolls are
A trait is a modifier on a unit that raises things like damage, attack speed or range. You change a unit's trait with a Trait Reroll at the Mandra NPC in the Upgrades area of the lobby. One reroll is enough for any unit, whatever its rarity, and each reroll replaces the current trait. A unit can also arrive with a trait from a summon.
The traits that matter
The wiki lists these odds and effects:
- Monarch (0.1 percent, guaranteed by pity at 1,500 rerolls): a very large damage boost, but the unit can only be placed once. Best for units with three placements or fewer, or expensive units.
- Ethereal (0.175 percent, pity at 858): faster attacks and more damage, good for cheap units, units with four or more placements and support units.
- Deadeye (0.375 percent, pity at 400): more critical chance and critical damage, so use it on units that already crit.
- Solar (0.5 percent, pity at 300): a big range boost with a small damage and speed gain.
- Blitz (1.85 percent): faster attacks.
- Fortune (2.5 percent): more cash from farm units, or cheaper upgrades for other units.
- Marksman (6.5 percent): extra range.
The pity counter belongs to each unit separately, and the wiki says evolving, normalizing or transferring stats does not reset it. That has a practical meaning: pick your main team first, then spend rerolls on those units only.
Free ways to farm rerolls every day
The wiki's list of repeatable sources includes:
- Bounties: 1 reroll each, up to 10 a day.
- Infinite quests: reach wave 50 on the map named in the quest for 3 rerolls daily. You can leave as soon as you reach wave 50.
- Challenges: the Trait Reroll challenge, the daily challenge and the weekly challenge.
- Odyssey Limitless: 1 reroll at 400, 800 and 1,000 intensity, with a daily limit of 30.
- Daily rewards: rerolls on day 2, day 4 and day 7 of the cycle.
- PVP shop: 1 PVP coin per reroll.
- Elemental Towers: rerolls on floors 5 and 10, then every 10 floors.
- Normalizing a Shiny unit: 5 rerolls (selling it also works).
The wiki estimates a weekly total of 854 rerolls if you do all the daily and weekly sources. Nobody needs to do everything, so start with bounties and the infinite quest, which cost little time.
Other things to know
- The September 2026 guide from AllThingsHow says rerolls from completing the Odyssey proficiencies and ascensions come from the Level Tree, so event double-reward bonuses do not apply to them.
- The same guide says that only rerolls bought in the store with real money can be traded. Rerolls you farm cannot.
- Codes often give rerolls too, usually 20 to 100 according to the wiki. Check our Anime Vanguards codes page for the current ones, since codes expire quickly.
- Do not spend real money to chase a trait. Pity guarantees every unit eventually gets the top trait for free if you keep rolling.
Checklist
- Choose a main team.
- Do your 10 bounties and the infinite quest each day.
- Roll on one unit at a time, stopping at a trait that fits it.
- Keep an eye on pity, because a unit that is close to 1,500 rerolls is worth finishing.
