3008 Beginner Guide: Survive the Night, Build a Base and Find Food

A practical 3008 guide for new players: how days and nights work, where employees are dangerous, what food to collect, and how to build a safer base.

In 3008 you wander a huge furniture store, build a base and try to outlast the employees. This guide explains the day and night cycle, what food does, and how to build a base that keeps you alive on your first night. Most facts come from the SCP-3008 ROBLOX Wiki on Fandom (CC BY-SA). GuruGamer's tips are from 2021, so we only used advice that the wiki also supports. The Roblox page describes the goal as building a base and surviving the employees. Details are as of October 2026, and the game gets updates.

How days and nights work

The wiki gives these lengths, which can run long when the server lags:

  • Day: about 6 minutes. Employees wander and stay passive, so this is the time to explore, gather food and build.
  • Night: about 5 minutes. The lights shut off with a loud sound, and employees turn hostile and chase you on sight.
  • Blood Night: also 5 minutes, happens about every 10 days or by chance. Employees sense you from farther away, jump higher and run faster.
  • Foggy Day: every 15 days or by chance. View is limited and employees are hostile, but slower.
  • Blizzard: a daytime event that deals damage to you in the open, so stay somewhere with a roof and walls.

The takeaway: use daytime for work, and be inside a base before the night starts.

What employees do

Employees cannot be killed. The wiki says they do around 7 to 13 damage over time when you are close, up to 30 on a Blood Night, and 50 on a Foggy Day. At night, left-clicking an employee in range pushes it back and stuns it for a few seconds. The wiki also says whistling at night attracts them, and GuruGamer adds that running draws more of them, so move calmly when they are near.

Food, energy and health

The wiki says your stats are health, energy and hunger, and the maximum for all of them is 100 percent in a normal game. Food is mostly found in places like the Cafeteria and is restocked on in-game Monday and Friday.

From the wiki's consumables list: - Medkit: +30 health. - Meatballs: +30 hunger, the biggest single hunger gain in the list. - Apple: +5 health, +6 energy, +12 hunger. - Striped Donut: +15 energy. - Beans: cost 10 health, so skip them when hurt. - Glass Shard: -33 health. It is not food.

Your inventory holds 16 items in a normal game, so choose what to carry. Food can also be placed like furniture in your base.

How to build a safer base

Combine the wiki's guide and building tips:

  1. Build during the day from furniture and objects you find on the map.
  2. Make the entrance narrow so you have to crawl or slip through sideways, which makes it harder for employees to come in.
  3. Build high above the ground. The wiki suggests this keeps employees out, but notes that on Blood Nights and Foggy Days they jump higher, so use tall walls and a roof.
  4. Pallets are the most common building object, but employees can climb them if the structure has no roof. The wiki advises putting the taller side facing outward.
  5. Store food and medkits in the base before dark.

Beginner mistakes

  • Wandering far from your base as the day ends.
  • Whistling at night. It is meant for finding friends, not for fighting.
  • Eating without checking the effects.
  • Spending real money on gamepasses before you understand the game. Gamepasses cost real money, so ask a parent or guardian first.

Quick checklist

  • Day: gather food, build.
  • Before night: be inside with medkits and meatballs.
  • At night: stay inside, push employees only if needed.
  • Next day: restock, repair walls.
